Quick Take: A nice twist on traditional memory games. It's fun to push a button and make the ducks go, you're just trying to find the three ducks that have the shape on the bottom that you're trying to collect. It's a bit easier than a matching memory game so it's a great choice for a first memory game for a toddler. And it's excellent for fine motor skills because the ducks are moving as you're trying to grab a specific one. I would wait until the child is pretty close to 3 to get this game, we've been trying to play it with my toddler who is not quite 2 and while she enjoys playing with the ducks and wreaking havoc she is in no way interested in sitting there calmly and waiting her turn to pick a duck and check the pattern on the bottom. The older kids enjoy it though, it's a good choice for siblings to play together.

How to Play: The goal of the game is to be the first to collect all three of your ducks with a specific shape on the bottom of it. There are circles, stars, triangles, or squares. You place all the ducks in the pond and push the center button to start. While they are moving around in a circle you pick up a duck. If it has the shape you're supposed to collect on the bottom of it, you place it in front of you. If it has a different shape, you show it to everyone else and then place it back in the pond. The game ends when a player has collected all three of the ducks of the shape they're supposed to collect.

Variations: If you're playing with fewer than four players you can choose to put just the ducks with the specific shapes you're trying to collect in the middle, taking out the ones that no one is trying to collect. Or you can have two different shapes you're trying to collect if it's a two player game.
