Quick Take: Entry level Uno game for your toddler or preschooler. A 2 year old can play this and we've had a bunch of 6 year old girls who have wanted to play this on playdates recently, so it ages well. It is my new go-to first game for kids. Our one year old isn't playing it yet but she's loving bashing all the little animal figures and opening up the barn and dumping everything out. This game is sturdy!

How to Play: Just as in traditional Uno, you win by being the first to get rid of your hand. But instead of having a hand of cards, you have a hand of cute barn animals. Each player draws 5 animals to start. A random animal is selected and placed at the entrance to the barn. To play one of your animals, you must match color or animal type to the animal at the entrance. If you cannot play, you must draw one animal from the barn without looking. If it can play you are allowed to play it immediately. There are two special items: skunks are "stinky" so the next player skips their turn when one is played. And the white figures are the farmer and they serve as a wild. When you get down to one animal left you must shout "Uno mooooo!" There is no penalty for forgetting to say Uno, it's just for fun.

Variations: If you're playing with just two players you can draw 7 animals instead of just 5 to start. Apparently an old version came with haystacks for your animals to hide behind so you could have players hide their pieces if you like, although I think it's fine for kids to see what other people have and try to play a bit more strategically based on that information.
