Rat-A-Tat Roll 2.JPG

Quick Take: Rat-a-Tat Cat plus dice and a little more strategy.  It's a game of memory, strategy, and a bit of luck. It ticks all the boxes of what I look for in a game, I am happy to play this game on repeat.

How to Play: End the game with the lowest score to win. Each player is dealt one card to start which they get to look at. And then one card is dealt face up in front of each color section of the board for a total of 5 cards in play. Each player gets to take a turn moving the Catue of Liberty token around the board and can choose the number of number dice they roll to try to get to a particular card in a color region of the board. Within a color region, there are three spots where you can either pick up the card in front of you or draw a card from the deck in the middle of the board, pick up the card in front of you and draw a re-roll hot air balloon, or draw the card in front of you and either look at all of the cards in your hand or look at one of the cards in one of your opponent's hands. You also may land on a wild die spot, which is the most fun part of the game. You get to use a special die that allows you to either take the lowest card on display, the highest card on display, or trade one of your cards with an opponent's card. This is generally when you use most of your re-roll tokens. In a 3-5 player game the game ends when every player has collected four cards, you then have one more round to choose to roll the wild die and after that everyone turns up their cards. Lowest score wins!

Variations: With two players you collect five cards before the game is over. And you can pass out additional re-roll tokens for younger players to make things a little easier on them if necessary.
