Quick Take: I was hoping for a cute, very simple zombie themed game that the kids could play on their own. Nope nope nope. Premise is cute, it's a very slow zombie footrace to exactly 25 points. Execution of rules and how the game actually plays out is a bit frustrating. The game does not work well with its rules as written, a lot is unclear and even when you think you have it figured out the game play is rather ponderous.
How to Play: Try to get your zombie to 25 points first. You can play on teams if you're playing with 4 or 6 players. Each player is dealt 6 cards to start. There are four different kinds of cards in the game. Step cards are pretty clear, you play those on a pile by you and want them to eventually add up to 25. Calamity cards make bad things happen to other players ... probably. One or two could be helpful if you played them on yourself but it's unclear if that is allowed. The icon for calamity cards does not match that of those in the rules. Fortune and trump cards help save you from calamity cards. It is not clear where you play cards, it seems like you play them directly in front of you and directly in front of other people rather than on a discard pile and discard them once they have been cancelled out by other cards. Once someone gets to exactly 25 points they win, you do not win if you go over 25 points.
Variations: I think it helps a lot to play in teams, that way the game is quicker at least because you play to one stack to get to 25 points.
