Wendigo
Love means … horror? Did you know there's a trend of horror movies being released on Valentine's Day? If you would like to scare your loved ones into a good cuddle, go for it. (Please note, this game is not actually scary, it's a fun memory game that happens to be based on a terrifying legend).

Jumanji
Love means making your child experience something important to your childhood. If you haven't said "you're going to enjoy this whether you like it or not" are you even a parent? We highly recommend watching the original movie and playing this game immediately afterward, our kids were SO excited.

The Mind
Love means gazing deeply into each other's eyes and trying to read thoughts. Seriously, that is how this game works. Play cards in sequence without talking or communicating. It's quite the endeavor and very fun to play. This game was a surprise hit when it was released in 2018.

Codenames Duet
Love is playing as a team! Codenames is one of my favorite party games. The Duet version is cooperative and ideal for two players but can also be played with as many additional people as you would like on each team. You can adapt the game to make it easier or harder so if you want to play a game with your special someone and make sure everyone is happy at the end, this is a great choice.

Patchwork Express
Love means crafting! This is a quilt themed game (of all things) and it's so good. So many games are best as four player games so it's great to find a good one that is specifically geared for two players. If you have enough time on your hands to play the full version, check that out as well Patchwork

Hanabi
Love means fireworks! In this case, a game about a fireworks display. It's a cooperative game which means you get to work together as a team, a nice touch for a day of togetherness. However, it is quite challenging! Memory skills, good communication, and excellent strategy are all required.

Splendor
Love means jewels! Or at least you can say you got your loved one jewels for Valentine's Day if you get them this game. Simple premise but a good amount of strategy required to do well. Collect jewels to buy cards and get to 15 points first. It's one of our go-to games for an adult game night.

Love Letter
This game sounds like it is about love, but really it's about backstabbing and ruthless competition. Which is how dating works if you do it right I guess … This game is simple to play and has a nice mix of strategy and luck. There are a ton of spin-offs out there, it's a very popular game for good reason.
