Quick Take: It’s like trivial pursuit without the trivia, be the first to collect all the different colored acorns. We like it a fair bit, it’s very popular and it’s one of those games that kids can quickly play independently with friends. Everyone goes nuts over the squirrel tweezers which I'm told is great for practicing fine motor skills. I love that the game board is the game box itself - set up and clean up is a breeze. However, my main complaint is there are too many bad spins you can get on the spinner and even my cheerful youngest child who is the best sport about losing games can get a bit demoralized when we play.
How to Play: Use the spinner to see if you get a specific colored acorn, one or two acorns of your choice, a sneaky squirrel (steal an opponents acorn), sad squirrel (your turn gets skipped), or squirrel storm (all the acorns get blown back into the tree). Whoever fills their log piece with all the different colored acorns first is the winner. The big squirrel included in the game is the "sneaky squirrel squeezer" and you are supposed to use it to pick up the acorns.
Variations: You can do one re-spin option per turn if a child can't really handle the sad aspects of the game and you just want a nice game.
