Quick Take: This game is mostly cute activities for 2 or 3 year olds to get to do. It is a cooperative game that you just play as long as you need to until you achieve victory. However, my kids adore Pete the Cat and love cupcakes and quickly lost interest in this game. The most likely target audience for this game is early preschool but it doesn't age well for older kids. Other Pete the Cat games that my prove more reasonable for older kids are Pete the Cat The Groovy Buttons Game, or better yet, check out some of the highly rated educational games! Pete the Cat Cool Cat Math Game or Pete the Cat Purrfect Pairs Game.
How to Play: Your goal is to get all the cupcakes back from Grumpy Toad and back on the game board. Players take turns using the spinner and moving their characters a corresponding number of spaces. You can land on a present spot, where the player does charades but they can make sounds. If the other players correctly guess what they are acting out they get to place two cupcakes back on the game board. There are also activity spots where you do things like name an animal and make its sound, name a food, pick a letter and say a word that begins with that letter, or sing a part of a song. You get a cupcake back on the board for doing any of these activities successfully. There are also Grumpy Toad spots you have to watch out for, they make a cupcake go back in the box. And you play as long as you need to for victory.
Variations: Create your own activities to make this more challenging for older kids.
