Quick Take: Give clues and work together to figure out which of the 11 images is the one key! Interestingly, the clues are other pictures and the person giving clues isn't allowed to say anything, just place the cards on tile that are red, yellow, or green and correspond to how closely they think that picture relates to the one key, the correct image that you're trying to guess. If you love Codenames and want something cooperative to play, this is a great choice. Ideal for 2-4 players, you can have more people involved but it starts to feel like a too many cooks in the kitchen kind of situation.
Variations: We're pretty casual about the timer when we play this game, especially when we play it with our older son. The timer is great if you have people who agonize over decision making and you need to move the game along but we didn't find it necessary most of the time. Same thing for the free app. It's cute and it's fun to have the correct image pop up at the end if you win the game but it's not really necessary for a standard game.
