Quick Take: Coffee table size magnetic version of air hockey. Exceeded all of my expectations. This has all the fun of air hockey with a few extra elements. And if you're wondering about the name, apparently that's the Danish word for the sound of ball falling into the goal because a Danish carpenter named Mikkel invented this as a Christmas gift for his friends. I know. Great for all ages, this takes no time to set up and the rules are simple.
How to Play: Your goal is to be the first to score six goals. Each player has a striker that is magnetically attached to a steering magnet placed under the board. You use the striker to hit the ball and try to score in the opponent's goal. You can also score points if two of the three white magnets placed in the center of the board become attached to your opponent's striker. You can score a point if your opponent accidentally pulls their striker into their own goal or if your opponent manages to lose control of their striker and it becomes disconnected from your steering magnet as the striker shoots to the opposite side of the board. There's a central wooden barrier underneath the board so if you bash the steering magnet into it too hard, the striker will go flying. This keeps the game play from getting too wild (have I mentioned I love this game?). First to reach six points wins!
Variations: My 7 year old made a one player version of this where you play with two balls at the same time as well as with the spare white magnet. There's also a four player version available on the Target website if you want to go nuts on Klask. Also, if you're playing with younger children you can take out the center white magnetic pieces to make things easier or not count it as a point if their striker is pulled into their own goal.
