Holiday Game List - November 2020

A board game is an experience gift that you can physically wrap up and hand to someone as a present. Can there be anything better? Feel free to message me if you want a personal recommendation for someone, I love finding a game that's going to be just the right fit!

Preschool (Ages 3-4)

Uno Moo!

Uno with little plastic animal figures instead of cards. Take turns matching the animals and putting them back into the barn.

Two games in one! Match the front and hind end of animals on cards in order to Free the Animals in the cooperative version of this game and then you can flip the board and battle it out to be first to finish The Race of the Year.

Great alternative to Twister, this active game will keep your kids moving. Move to the correct colored foam tile and don't land in the lava! Competitive and cooperative versions to play.

Two player dice version of Kingdomino with a slightly higher strategy level than the original. Create dominos out of your dice rolls and place them on your kingdom to score the most points.

Excellent, grown-up version of Dragonwood. Same basic game mechanics - collect cards and roll dice - but higher strategic gameplay as you compete to collect gold at magical locations. Watch out for goblins!

Magnetic, coffee-table sized air hockey with a few additional elements that make it a win for all ages.

Risk meets Small World and you can complete an entire game in 20 min. It can be difficult to find such a strategic game that plays in such a short amount of time. This is a standout.

Cooperative game where you work together to get your hero through a shopping mall labyrinth in order to steal their magical items and get out, and you must do it without speaking!

Draw a card, play a card, and try to remove your rivals from the game. Strategic but quick and easy to play. Most readily available version is Marvel themed!

Crazy cheap, super fun. Find the monster in your midst! Play specific cards to try to catch whoever has the monster card or try to be the one to play the monster card and win points.

Social word game where you are rewarded for matching answers with others, especially if you match only one other person. Fantastic option for a Zoom game. Family friendly!

The rules to play the game are in the name. From a hand of 5 cards you play 2, then 1, then 1 again. Collect the most points to win! This game has the exact same rules as 5211 but with an Azul theme.

Beat Sherlock Holmes to solve the case! You don't ever get to look at the cards in your hand, you must rely on clues from your teammates to correctly play out cards that add up to the correct total and in the correct color. Options for advanced play with special character cards.

5 Minute Dungeon

The most intense and fun 5 minutes of your life. Work together to play cards as quickly as possible to defeat a stack of mini bosses and progress to the main boss! There is a Marvel themed version of this game and an expansion if you can't get enough.
