Quick Take: It's like Ticket to Ride meets a Viking raider attack. Compelling and interesting gameplay from a famous game designer, a unique game concept that is fresh and fun, what could go wrong? Well, lots of things. It just doesn't play well. We keep trying to find a way to make this work with a quick fix of one or two rules but it needs some major house rule tweaks to make it a competitive game. Otherwise whoever gets a few good cards in the beginning pulls ahead and you're in for a very lopsided game. Patchwork is amazing, go play that instead.
How to Play: You are trying to collect the most gold. You are pillaging Vikings, trying to keep up and compete for loot as your keel boat moves along the coast. Each player is dealt three cards. Set up the three bay board with four treasure at the top of each board and
Variations: We didn't allow a player to ever have all three of their troops in the same shore or hinterland region at the same time. Also, we recommend using three cards of any variety to take the place of a wild card, although this wouldn't make the Viking ship move forward a space.
